March is Natural Nutrition Month, so we’re celebrating our favorite nutrient-rich food: Eggs! Eggs are a good source of iron, protein, Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D. They have every vitamin and mineral your body needs except for Vitamin C. In addition to choosing great foods like eggs, there are a number of ways to make healthy, nutritious choices. Eating right doesn’t have to be complicated. These recommendations from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans can help get you started.
• Emphasize fruit, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat or fat-free milk and milk products.
• Include lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs and nuts.
• Make sure your diet is low in saturated fats, trans fats, salt (sodium) and added.
